Veganuary, which takes place in January, is a month dedicated to promoting and celebrating veganism and a plant-based lifestyle. From the 14th to the 30th of January, from Friday to Sunday, Expo 2020 Dubai will present a game-changing gastronomic experience with flavours from throughout the world.
In conjunction with the vegan days, Expo 2020 will provide a diverse range of plant-based foods to the region. Expo will also have a lineup of vegan DJs spinning late into the night.
“The sign-ups for the Veganuary campaign last year touched historic highs in 2021, with over 582,000 people signing up,” according to The Vegan Society. In comparison to 400,000 participants in 2020, with a projected increase of even more in 2022.”
Sweet and savoury meals from global tastemakers and Michelin-rated celebrity chef Matthew Kenney to local street food legends Papa Burty’s serving up their famed Jamaican vegan patties are among the things offered at the vegan food festival.
In addition, Alkebulan will host a ten-day pop-up with chef Glory Kabe, ADRIFT Burger Bar will make any burger vegan for the month of Veganuary, and Mangrove Philippine Cuisine, Melbourne Lane, The Local Aussie Grill, Floozie Cookies, Skymarket, Veg’d, XYST, Kutir will also provide vegan alternatives.
Guests can enjoy an eco-marketplace with sustainable stalls, a vegan and organic spa, as well as entertainment, chef talks, and activities throughout the day by strolling throughout the festival.
Visit the festival garden during January to experience a Botany Lab, a 100% vegan and organic spa from Qatar that focuses on skin enhancement through non-invasive treatments and facial massage techniques.
The region’s largest vegan pop-up market, Not Just For Vegans, will take place in the festival garden on January 29 and 30, with over 60 local ethical brands selling everything from fashion, jewellery, and accessories to handcrafted luxury items and everyday staples.
Vegan Days at Expo 2020 Dubai are held every weekend from January 14 to 30 in the Festival Garden, Wadi Avenue, Jubilee Park near the Malaysian Pavilion.
