On Monday, a 25-year-old Asian woman was sentenced by the criminal court in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for six months in prison. She has been sent behind bars for breaking her husband’s finger after learning about his plans to get married for the second time. The court has also ordered deportation.

The woman briefed the police that she was shocked after learning about her husband’s decision to remarry a woman and his refusal to grant her marital rights. On the other side, the 24-year-old man said that his wife didn’t accept the decision to remarry; following this, she assaulted and insulted him.

There are reports that, in the first place, the husband slapped the woman, causing hearing impairment estimated at two percent. The argument got heated, and eventually, the woman held his fingers firmly and pushed him while pulling them backwards. This caused fractures.

A few months back, a similar happening was reported in the Dhaka region. Rafiqul Islam blindfolded his wife and chopped off her fingers as she began studying for a degree without his permission.
