Due to 5G concerns, Dubai’s Emirates suspends several flights to US

The company has said that the decision has been related to “operational concerns associated with the planned deployment of 5G network services in the United States of America.”

On Wednesday, January 19, Dubai’s Emirate airline has suspended several flights to the United States amid concerns over 5G mobile deployments.

The company has said that the decision has been related to “operational concerns associated with the planned deployment of 5G network services in the United States of America.”

The destinations which have been massively affected include Seattle, San Francisco, Orlando, Newark, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, and Miami. Flyers travelling to the JFK in New York, Los Angeles International Airport and Dulles International Airport Washington DC (IAD) will be allowed to travel.

The company said, “We are working to reduce operational issues and have urged the aircraft manufacturers and relevant authorities. We have hoped that the US services will be resumed as soon as possible”.

Earlier Tuesday, the White House said that “US wants to reach at a solution on the 5G rollout as it protects the aviation safety and does not interrupt the air travel.”

However, Federal Aviation Administrator, the US aviation regulator, has cautioned that the implementation of new 5G technology could impair delicate aeroplane instruments like altimeters, as well as considerably hinder low-visibility flights.
