Around 400 left-wing Israeli activists on the morning of Friday aided the Palestinian farmers in planting trees near the West Bank village of Burin.

Jerusalem, Israel: Around 400 left-wing Israeli activists on the morning of Friday aided the Palestinian farmers in planting trees near the West Bank village of Burin. These trees have been planted in the memory of several individuals who got wounded in an attack two weeks before by the extremist settlers. 

Avi Dabush, head of Rabbis for Human Rights, while in conversation with the media personnel, cited, “This picture of hundreds of Israelis, including those injured by Jewish terrorists, returning to the scene of the attack, 2 weeks after it took place, represents a significant victory“.

Following the above statement, he added, “We have declared that we will not give in to violence & that we would return to the field to stand in solidarity with Palestinian olive farmers against those who regularly attack them. And that is what we did”. 

As per the statement issued by the organisation, numerous other activists and settlers and individuals were arriving at the spot for the tree plantation but were stopped by the army. Meanwhile, issuing their statement on this, the military officials of Israel stated, “Security forces were operating at the scene to maintain the order, & also to prevent incidents of violence“.    

As per the sources, several troops blocked the way of a convoy of cars and buses. Apart from this, numerous lawmakers were also present at the plantation event, some of which includes: Joint List’s Ahmad Tibi and Meretz’s Gaby Lasky and Mossi Raz.
