Egypt records highest daily COVID-19 infections toll

Once again breaking the mark of daily COVID-19 infections, Egypt has recorded 2,301 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, February 6, 2022.

Once again breaking the mark of daily COVID-19 infections, Egypt has recorded 2,301 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, February 6, 2022. As per data shared by Ministry of Health & Population’s daily update report, with the arrival of these additional COVID-19 infections, the total toll of the confirmed cases in the middle east country has hiked to 439,651.

Fifty-nine additional deaths were also recorded by the health ministry, taking the total number of fatalities of Egypt to 22,936. On the other hand, a total of 3,321 patients recovered from the deadliest virus and got discharged from the hospital facilities in 24 hours.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus in the middle east country, there have been a total of 372,332 recoveries witnessed by the healthcare facilities of Egypt.

The country at present is witnessing a strong wave of the COVID-19 mutant, which is resulting in the rise of daily novel coronavirus numbers and the death rate tally. The previous month, Egypt recorded the highest number of the daily COVID mark for the first time.

Meanwhile, as per the predictions and statement issued by the spokesperson of the health ministry, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, Egypt will witness a decline in the reporting of the COVID-19 cases as well as in the death rate.

So far, more than 38 million first doses of the COVID0-19 vaccines have been administered at the vaccination sites or centres in Egypt, whereas around 27 million second doses of the vaccine, since the COVID-19 mass vaccination drive started in January 2021.

The data shared by the health ministry further highlights that a total of 38,312,663 individuals are the ones who are partially inoculated with taking one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 27,165,187 individuals are now fully vaccinated against the deadliest viral disease. This counts for 37.4% and 26.5% of the total population, respectively.
