Meanwhile, Noha Assem, a member of the Ministry’s Scientific Committee to Combat Coronavirus, exemplified the importance of getting vaccinated. She underscored that so far, around 46 per cent of the world’s population has received the two doses of the vaccine, while 56 per cent is partially vaccinated while taking one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.

“The fourth reason for the importance of receiving the vaccine at the current stage is to reduce the possibility of new mutations of the virus. The higher the rates of receiving the vaccine, the lower the chances of the emergence of new mutations in the future, and therefore receiving the vaccine has become a priority”.

On the other hand, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar, stated that the middle east country is at present battling with the fifth wave of the deadliest coronavirus pandemic.

Abdel-Ghaffar, asserted, “We have an increase in the number of infections, but it is not accompanied by an increase in hospitalization rates.”

In terms of the COVID-19 vaccination, the data shows there are a total of 39,155,636 individuals who are partially vaccinated while taking at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which is around 38.3% of the total population.

In total, 28,440,704 individuals are the ones who have taken their required number of vaccine jabs and are now fully vaccinated.
