Egypt reports 1,811 new COVID infections with 30 deaths

Egypt recorded a total of 1,811 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday, February 25, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health in its COVID-19 update report.

Cairo: Egypt recorded a total of 1,811 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Friday, February 25, according to the data shared by the Ministry of Health in its COVID-19 update report. This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections in the Middle East nation to 478,984. 

As per the data of the report, a total of thirty (30) additional COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded by the hospital facilities of Egypt. With the reporting of these additional deaths, the total count of Egypt’s death rate has risen to 23,957.

Meanwhile, 1,654 COVID-19 patients got recovered from the deadliest viral disease in the last 24 hours, as of Friday, bringing the recovery rate to 409,748. 

The vaccination rate in Egypt:

In the Middle East country, there are a total of 40,088,514 individuals have taken their at least first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and are now partially vaccinated, counting for around 39.2% of the total Egyptian population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 29,465,603 individuals in the Middle East nation who have taken their required number of the WHO-approved COVID-19 vaccines. This number counts for around 28.8% of the total population of the Middle East country, as per the statics. 

Meanwhile, there are a total of 985,931 individuals in Egypt who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their booster shots, till now, the data further notes. 

In the time frame from December 2020 to February 2022, Egypt received more than 142 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, as per to the statement of the acting health minister – Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, on Wednesday.

The health ministry of the Middle East nation plans to vaccinate 70% of the total targeted eligible population by the second half of the ongoing year (those who are above the age of 12 years).
