Dubai court sentences 3 months jail and fine worth 2,000 Dirham for man who tried to steal car with woman inside

As per to the reports of the local media, the Dubai court has announced a sentenced to three months in jail followed by deportation, along with a fine worth 2,000 Dirham for trying to steal a car with a lady inside.

The incident:

Dubai Court of First Instance said that the lady was waiting for her husband while sitting inside the car. The vehicle was parked in front of a veterinary clinic. The 35-year-old (accused) was running and escaping from the attackers when he noticed a car that was parked outside a vet clinic. 

Although, in a hurry, the accused did not notice the woman who was sitting inside the car, according to the information shared by local media outlets. Soon, the lady called and informed her husband, who immediately rushed, trying to get the culprit out of the car. 

As per a statement in police reports, the 35-year-old then tried to escape when he accidentally hit the vehicle on the pavement. After the mini-accident, the husband of the lady was able to catch the thief with the assistance of a security guard. 

Meanwhile, during the interrogation time period, the accused refused that he intended to steal the vehicle. Justifying his statement, the man noted that he drove off the car in order to escape from the attackers, who were behind him.  

Following and hearing both sides, the court of the capital city of United Arab Emirates announced imprisonment of three months to the individual and ruled to deport the 35-year-old accused. 

 Punishment for theft in Dubai:

Stealing in Dubai holds a punishment of imprisonment from 6 months up to 3 years or a fine, which is considered a crime. Moreover, attempted theft punishment carries either imprisonment of between 3 months to 18 months or a fine. 

A public prosecutor is an individual who announces punishment for the aforementioned crimes.
