Dubai EXPO 2020 crosses mark of 20 million visitors

Visitors arriving at Dubai EXPO 2020 crossed margin of 20 million.

Abu Dhabi, UAE: Visitors arriving at the Dubai EXPO 2020 has crossed the margin of 20 million. The milestone has been achieved on Saturday, March 19, 2022. 

The announcement and data was shared by the Expo News Service, adding that EXPO is just 5 million, far from achieving the target of 25 million.

As per data, the majority of these visitors at the DUBAI EXPO 2020 are from the United Arab Emirates only, computing for around 70%. 

Speaking on such big achievement, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and group and chairman of the Expo 2020 Dubai Higher Committee – Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, asserted, “When we begin this journey in the year of 2013, and even prior to then as we prepared the bid for Expo 2020 Dubai, we had a dream to welcome the world to Dubai and the UAE for an outstanding global gathering that would live long in hearts and minds.”

He then added, “We are so glad that we finally fulfilled this dream, which is already beyond doubt, but to achieve such a landmark number of visits is a true testament to how the world has reacted to what we have worked so long and hard to create“.  

Sheikh Ahmed then expressed his hope that the people who visited the mega event would go home with tons of beautiful memories with their family or friends, which they will cherish for their whole life. 

Meanwhile, Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan – the UAE Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and commissioner-general of Expo 2020 Dubai, cited, “The opportunity to safely unite the world in the wake of the pandemic to deliver an experience with real importance is one which we have not taken for granted, and we are delighted that Expo 2020 Dubai has proved so impressively popular. In the spirit of optimism, millions of visitors and participants have come together, not only to witness and enjoy something truly remarkable but to also work together to drive positive social and environmental impact“.  

As per  Sheikh Nahayan, Dubai EXPO 2020 showcased outstanding ability and skill in “achieving a consistently high turnout”, even during the tough times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
