The case traces back to the month of August the previous year when a complaint was filed by a European woman in which she accused an Asian man of stabbing her maid multiple times inside of her residence.

In her statement, the woman noted that a verbal argument started between her maid and her husband, and when the lady asked the man to leave her home, the accused took a knife and stabbed her wife numerous times in the neck and on different parts of her body, after which he fled the crime scene.

The owner of the house immediately called an ambulance for her injured maid and informed the police authorities. The victim was being treated for her injuries and is doing quite fine now.

The accused was soon arrested after Dubai police initiated search operations.

In the United Arab Emirates, Article 35 lays out the punishments for such attempted crimes. Therefore, the punishment for attempted murder is life imprisonment as the punishment of the completed crime is a death sentence. These are the legal framework set by the UAE Penal Code and the Shari’a law for murder also.
