UAE reported fresh 226 COVID-19 infections today

The Middle East nation has recorded a total of additional 226 cases of the novel coronavirus today, on April 9, 2022, Saturday, according to the data shared in the report of the health ministry.

Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Middle East nation has recorded a total of additional 226 cases of the novel coronavirus today, on April 9, 2022, Saturday, according to the data shared in the report of the health ministry. This takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 infections to 893,638 in the United Arab Emirates since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The health ministry further informed that these additional cases had been detected from the additional 241,982 RT-PCR COVID-19 tests conducted by the healthcare facilities in the last 24 hours in the Middle East nation.

Although no new COVID-19 related death has been recorded by the healthcare facilities in the last 24 hours, thus, the death rate in the United Arab Emirates remains at 2,302. 

Meanwhile, the last 24 hours also witnessed the recovery of 619 COVID-19 patients who also have been discharged from the hospital facilities of the Middle East country. With this, the overall recovery rate of the Middle East nation has hiked to 873,449. 

In terms of the COVID-19 vaccination, there are a total of 9,890,305 individuals in the United Arab Emirates who have taken their at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccines and are in the category of partially vaccinated ones, representing around 100% of the total targeted eligible population. 

On the other hand, there are a total of 9,623,267 UAE citizens who received their required number of the COVID-19 jabs and are fully vaccinated now. This number of individuals represents around 97.3% of the total targeted eligible population. 

There are a total of 5,032,187 individuals who are fully vaccinated and have also taken their third dose, which is booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine, computing for around 50.9% of the total targeted eligible population. 

The Ministry of Health further asked the general public to follow the COVID-19 containment measures and keep themselves safe from getting infected by the novel coronavirus.
