The Criminal Court of Dubai has sentenced a worker to life imprisonment for the murder of a garage owner over a minor dispute. The case goes back to June 2020, when workers of a vehicle repair garage discovered their manager dead inside his office, with several injuries on his neck and abdomen and serious head injuries.

As per the details of the police investigation, an officer arrived at the spot where the crime was held after receiving a report about the killing in a garage in Dubai’s Al Quoz Industrial Area 2.

While remembering the crime site, a police officer said he found the victim’s body lying in a puddle of blood with his neck bent and his face smashed.

Several wounds on the upper part of the body indicated that the victim was beaten and stabbed.

The officer also recovered a blood-stained medium-sized blade, scissors and an iron hammer from the murder area.

During the interrogation, the victim’s colleagues said they left the place almost for 20 minutes to purchase some things. When they came back, they found the entrance door of the garage locked from the inside, so they entered from the back door when one of them found the owner’s body soaked in blood in his office.

The cop further added that he had doubts about one of his workers, who were not there when the body was found. The charged man of Asian origin (from Eastern Europe) was captured near his country’s consulate in Dubai.

During questioning, the accused admitted to the crime, saying that he visited his country’s consulate to make arrangements to flee the country.

He further told the officers that on the day of his murder, he argued with his boss over yearly leave as the worker wanted to visit his hometown and had asked the victim to book a return ticket.

A verbal argument took place between worker and boss over the returning date, after which the victim immediately asked the charge for leaving work.

The accused told the police that he felt offended, adding that he went downstairs to the workshop, locked its door from the inside before coming back to his boss’s office with a knife and then stabbing him.

He stabbed him and hit his head with a hammer.
