St. Kitts & Nevis: PM Terrance Drew sings pact for climate-smart national hospital construction

Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis signed a pact with the construction company Overseas Engineering and Construction Company (OECC) of China(Taiwan) for the construction of the new climate-smart national hospital in the Caribbean nation.

Dr. Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis signed a pact with the construction company Overseas Engineering and Construction Company (OECC) of China(Taiwan). The president of OECC Hsiao Yun Yeh(James) signed this on behalf of the company for the construction of the new climate-smart national hospital in the Caribbean nation.

The new hospital aims to provide the world-class health facilities to citiezens and will be established with support from China(Taiwan). PM Drew personally thanked the government of the People’s Republic of China(Taiwan).

PM Drew also shared the information regarding this significant development on his social media handles as well.  In his Facebook post PM Drew on  Thursday stated that “Today I have signed the official documents with Mr. Hsiall Yun Yeh(James), the President of construction company Overseas Engineering and Construction Company (OECC) of China(Taiwan) to construct world class hospital. The hospital will fulfill the heath related needs of the locals.”

He further stated that “The hospital will be a great achievement for the health sector of country. Health services are always the first priority of the Government.”

While expressing his gratitude to the Chinese government PM Drew added “The support of the government of China is crucial for the improvement of health infrastructure of the country, I hope the cooperation between both countries will continue future as well.”

The PM also thanked his colleague a local politician, Leon Natta-Nelson for his contribution to ensure the execution of this significant agreement.  As per the Prime Minister, the role played by Lean Natta-Nelson cannot be ignored by anyone for the successful conclusion of the agreement signing.

Soon after PM shared this information on Facebook, netizens lauded the deal. The Facebook user Chesil Watson commented “CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU DR. Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew and your “a” team cabinet for starting the new hospital in a short time. we here in the diaspora say thank you.”

Similarly, many other users also appreciate the PM for his efforts to make the country achieve new heights in the health sector.
