PM Drew welcomes inaugural flight of “Sunrise Airways” to St Kitts and Nevis

Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, welcomed “Sunrise Airways” first flight to the country on Sunday accompanied by many other government officials.

Terrance Drew, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, welcomed “Sunrise Airways” first flight to the country on Sunday. The  first flight of airlines from Antigua landed at Robert L. Bradshaw airport in St Kitts and Nevis early on 26 May.

PM Drew, accompanied by a delegation of government officials visit the Airport and personally welcomed the crew members and passengers of the inaugural Sunrise Airways flight. The airport was abuzz with excitement as a folk  artist performed the dance.The flight received a water cannon salute upon arrival also.

 

PM Drew shared this information  with citizens on his official  Facebook page. In a Facebook post, he stated, “I along with others welcomed the first flight of Sunrise Airways in St Kitts and Nevis. This is a significant development to  enhance the air connectivity with world class travel experience as well.”

 

PM Drew lauds the commendable efforts of Minister Marsha T. Hendreson and his team as their  dedication and hard work made this milestone possible. He again reiterated the government’s commitment to further enhance the aviation  sector, with the aim of creating more job opportunities and improving  the economy.

The welcome ceremony on this occasion was attended by government officials, tourism sector experts, airline Crew and many other special guests.

PM Drew and other dignitaries addressed the attendees at this ceremony, which was followed by a cake cutting. All the key speakers highlighted the importance of this new route. They expressed hopes this will enhance tourism, which ultimately contributes to uplift the economy.

Meanwhile social media users reacting to the PM’s Facebook post, expressed their happiness and lauded the efforts of the PM Drew-led government to improve air connectivity. One user Au David commented, “You’re trying hard, you’re doing your best. Congrats, PM. Keep on trying; your best days are ahead. Love always.”

Similarly another user  Athea Bass  reacting to PM’s post  wrote  “Excelleant, Mr PM and his entire team. Keep up the good work.”

It is to be added that the New flight will operate twice a days on six days of week.  The airline is expected to give a big boost to the tourism industry of the Caribbean with seamless connectivity.
