PM Drew also took to his social media handles to inform the public regarding this significant event. He wrote on his official Facebook page, “I am delighted to share glimpses of yesterday’s Requiem service at St. Johan’s Anglican church to pay our respect to the martyrs of the labour movement.”

“I would like to thank all the comrades for their esteem presence on this special occasion. Let’s continue to Live, work, and be proper Together,” added the PM.

PM Drew in his address to participants underlined the pivotal role played by clergy in advising the political leadership to make public-oriented decisions. According to PM Drew, “It will be the biggest blunder to forget the sacrifices of the past generations. Moreover our present generation must keep in mind that nothing can be done without people and nothing significant can be achieved without movement.”

PM further stated that it is our joint responsibility to keep the legacy alive of those who laid their lives for the better future of coming generations. Nevertheless, it is very important to celebrate their outstanding contribution, which led to the upliftment of the labour community’s standard of life.

While reacting to the PMs, the social media user appreciated the labour government for remembering the heroes of the labour movement. One Facebook user, Clement Stapleton, “Well done, my PM, and keep up the good work you are doing.”
