Weather Alerts Issued for Dust, Sand, and Wind; Temperature and Humidity Extremes Expected

The first alert warns of dust, sand, and strong winds reducing visibility to under 3000 meters in northern and eastern areas. This could impact travel and outdoor activities, so residents are advised to exercise caution while driving and outdoors

Today, the weather department has issued two yellow alerts for the UAE, signaling potential hazards due to adverse weather conditions. The alerts are in effect from 8:15 AM to 8:00 PM and from 8:15 AM to 9:00 PM, respectively.

The first alert warns of dust, sand, and strong winds affecting visibility. It cautions residents that horizontal visibility may drop to less than 3000 meters in some northern and eastern areas.

This condition could significantly impact travel and outdoor activities, making it essential for the public to exercise caution when driving or engaging in outdoor tasks.

The second alert addresses fresh winds reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h and rough sea conditions in the Oman Sea.

Offshore waves could reach 6 feet, posing potential hazards for maritime activities and fishing. Those planning to venture out to sea are advised to stay updated with weather conditions and exercise caution.

In addition to the alerts, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts the possibility of convective clouds forming towards the east, with a chance of rainfall.

Low clouds are also expected over the east coast. These meteorological conditions may bring brief periods of rain and reduced visibility in affected areas.

Temperature-wise, the UAE is set to experience a broad range today. In Abu Dhabi, temperatures are expected to range between 32℃ and 44℃, while in Dubai, the mercury will fluctuate between 33℃ and 43℃.

The high temperatures combined with varying humidity levels will create distinct conditions across different regions.

Humidity levels are anticipated to be particularly high in coastal areas and islands, reaching up to 85%.

This could lead to discomfort for those sensitive to humidity and impact outdoor activities. In contrast, the humidity in mountainous regions may drop to as low as 15%, offering a stark contrast in conditions within different parts of the country.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to mitigate the effects of the extreme temperatures and humidity.

The public is encouraged to monitor updates from the weather department and local news to remain informed about any changes in weather conditions throughout the day.
