Motorists are reminded to adhere to the changing speed limits indicated on electronic information boards throughout the emirates. The NCM's warning highlights that visibility may drop even further in certain areas, creating hazardous driving conditions

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for motorists across the UAE due to severe fog conditions affecting visibility on Saturday morning.

In a public announcement via X (formerly Twitter), Abu Dhabi Police emphasized the importance of caution among drivers as fog formations could significantly impair visibility.

Motorists are reminded to adhere to the changing speed limits indicated on electronic information boards throughout the emirates. The NCM’s warning highlights that visibility may drop even further in certain areas, creating hazardous driving conditions.

As residents navigate the fog, the weather department has also provided an overall forecast for Saturday. The UAE is expected to experience fair to partly cloudy skies, with clouds likely appearing in the eastern and southern regions.

Daytime temperatures are projected to reach a high of 38ºC in internal areas, while mountainous regions may see temperatures dip as low as 15ºC.

Humidity levels are anticipated to rise overnight, leading to a continuation of fog or mist formation in coastal and internal areas into Sunday morning.

This increase in humidity is expected to coincide with light to moderate winds, which may reach speeds of up to 35 km/h and could freshen at times throughout the day.

The Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will experience slight sea conditions, making them relatively calm for maritime activities. However, those planning to engage in water sports or fishing should still be aware of changing weather patterns and take necessary precautions.

In light of the fog warnings, authorities are urging the public to stay informed and updated about weather conditions through official channels. Following local advisories can help ensure the safety of all residents, particularly those traveling on the roads.

As the weekend progresses, the NCM will continue to monitor weather patterns and provide updates as necessary. Motorists are encouraged to plan their journeys accordingly, allowing extra time to reach their destinations safely.

For those looking to stay abreast of the latest weather developments and safety advisories, following local news outlets and the NCM on social media platforms is recommended. Additionally, residents can utilize WhatsApp Channels to receive instant updates directly from trusted news sources.

As the UAE gears up for celebrations, including the Sheikh Zayed Festival fireworks scheduled for December 31, authorities stress the importance of safety during periods of adverse weather.

Drivers should remain vigilant and prepared to adapt to changing conditions to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience throughout the festive season.

In conclusion, as fog envelops parts of the UAE, residents are reminded to prioritize safety and stay informed. With proper precautions and awareness of weather conditions, motorists can navigate the roads with confidence even in less than ideal circumstances.
