Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the launch of three new bus routes, set to begin operation on Friday, November 29, 2024.
The new services aim to improve connectivity across key locations in the city and provide enhanced travel options for residents and tourists.
One of the most anticipated additions is Route 108, which will directly link Satwa Bus Station to the popular Global Village. This route is expected to cater to visitors and residents heading to the world-renowned cultural and entertainment destination.
Service will operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, and during special events, running from 2:00 pm to 1:00 am the following day. Passengers will benefit from 11 trips in each direction daily, with a frequency of every 60 minutes.
In addition to Route 108, two more new routes will also be introduced. Route F63 will provide a vital connection between Al Ras Metro Station and Union Bus Station, traversing key streets such as Al Khaleej Street and Naif Street.
This route will serve as an important feeder service for commuters connecting to the Dubai Metro, helping to ease congestion and streamline travel.
Meanwhile, Route J05 will establish a new link between Mira Community and Dubai Studio City, passing through Neshama Townhouses. This route is expected to serve growing residential communities in the area.
As part of a broader initiative to improve the efficiency and convenience of the public transport system, RTA will also streamline and adjust several existing bus routes starting on November 29.
Route 5 will be modified to operate in both directions between Abu Hail Bus Station and Union Bus Station, no longer serving Al Ras Metro Station.
Similarly, Route 14 will now run in two directions, with its terminus at Business Bay Metro Station. Route 33 will be shortened to end at Karama Bus Station instead of Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, enhancing convenience for commuters in central Dubai.
Other notable adjustments include changes to Route 91, which will now cover Business Bay and serve the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) stop in both directions.
Route J02 will be shortened to expedite commuting between Arabian Ranches and Dubai Production City, while Route J04 will now include Sports City and reduce stops in Dubai Studio City.
Further improvements will be made to 30 existing bus routes, such as Routes 7, 13D, 20A, 21A, 21B, 30, 32C, 34, 44, 63E, 67, 91, F05, F07, F26, F23, F38, F39, and X92, among others. These routes will undergo adjustments to better align with the arrival times, ensuring a smoother and more efficient commuting experience for Dubai’s residents.
The RTA’s comprehensive plan is part of ongoing efforts to enhance public transportation services across Dubai, making daily commutes more convenient, comfortable, and accessible.
The launch of the new routes and the adjustments to existing services are expected to further boost the city’s already advanced transport infrastructure, catering to the needs of both locals and international visitors.
With the city’s growing population and a thriving tourism sector, the introduction of these new routes is expected to meet increasing demand and reduce travel times, ultimately promoting greater use of public transport in Dubai.
