Exeed ET Becomes First Mid-Size Electric SUV to Secure Five-Star C-NCAP Rating

The vehicle's exceptional performance underscores Exeed’s commitment to safety and technological innovation, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium electric SUV segment

The China Automotive Technology & Research Centre (CATARC) has announced the latest crash test results under the 2025 edition of the China New Car Assessment Programme (C-NCAP), with the Exeed ET emerging as the first mid-size electric SUV globally to achieve the coveted five-star rating.

The vehicle’s exceptional performance underscores Exeed’s commitment to safety and technological innovation, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium electric SUV segment.

Stricter Testing Protocols Align with Global Standards

The 2025 C-NCAP guidelines have undergone significant upgrades to align with international safety benchmarks, incorporating more stringent testing protocols.

Exeed, which has identified the Middle East as a strategic market, integrated specific regional road conditions and user preferences into the development of the ET model.

Given the high-speed driving patterns and the prioritization of safety for children and female passengers in the region, the ET was designed with structural reinforcements and optimized restraint systems.

Occupant Protection: Industry-Leading Performance

The Exeed ET recorded an impressive 91.28 per cent score in occupant protection, the highest among mid-to-large pure electric SUVs tested under C-NCAP’s latest protocols.

The updated assessment criteria increased frontal collision speeds to 55 km/h and side-impact speeds to 60 km/h, challenging vehicles to demonstrate superior structural integrity. The ET excelled, with minimal cabin intrusion, fully functional doors post-collision, and intact A/B pillars.

Airbag deployment was precise, while active seat belts and an enhanced undercarriage design reinforced its all-scenario passive safety capabilities.

VRU Safety: Advanced Protection for Pedestrians and Cyclists

In the Vulnerable Road User (VRU) category, the Exeed ET secured a commendable 76.2 per cent rating, excelling in evaluations involving pedestrian head and leg impact tests, as well as automatic emergency braking (AEB) scenarios.

The ET’s hood crumple zones effectively minimized impact forces, significantly reducing injury values in simulated crashes.

Additionally, its integrated AEB system demonstrated remarkable efficiency in detecting pedestrians and cyclists, particularly in complex cross-intersection scenarios.

The vehicle’s multi-layered protection mechanisms also met newly introduced criteria addressing child safety and obstacle-inclusive scenarios.

Active Safety: Intelligent Systems for Comprehensive Protection

Scoring 85.99 per cent in active safety, the Exeed ET successfully passed a rigorous battery of tests designed to assess real-world driving risks.

The vehicle’s AEB system effectively prevented collisions in highway rear-end and cross-intersection situations, while its lane-keeping assist and curve departure warning functions ensured stability and control.

Meeting 12 newly established standards, the ET incorporates advanced safety features such as Door Opening Warning (DOW), Driver Monitoring System (DMS), and Adaptive High Beam Assist (AHBA).

Additionally, its improved night lighting performance enhances visibility in adverse weather conditions, further solidifying its safety credentials.

Exeed ET Targets Premium SUV Market in UAE

Exeed officials have positioned the ET model as a direct competitor in the premium SUV segment, particularly within the Dh500,000 price range.

The UAE has been designated as the global launch market for the Exeed ET and the brand’s new EXLANTIX energy lineup, with subsequent expansions planned in European markets such as Norway and the United Kingdom.

As Exeed continues to strengthen its global footprint, the ET’s groundbreaking safety achievements could redefine industry benchmarks for electric SUVs worldwide.
