Abu Dhabi: IIFA 2022’s first night turned out to be a night full of glamour, smiles

IIFA (International Indian Film Academy) 2022 is back again with a bang after a long break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, the award show is taking place on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The much-awaited award show started with a star-studded evening of music, entertainment and fashion.

IIFA Rocks 2022 declared the winners in nine technical categories on June 3. The ongoing event witnessed some fantastic performances last night.

The green carpet of IIFA 2022 witnessed several actors looking handsome as usual and actresses in their dreamy dresses. Shahid Kapoor, Salman Khan, Ananya Pandey, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Nora Fatehi, Sara Ali Khan, Tiger Shroff, Lara Dutta, Bobby Deol and many others graced the carpet with their mesmerizing looks.

The night became unique and memorable for Vicky Kaushal’s starrer ‘Sardar Udham Singh,’ which bagged three awards in the categories of Special Effects, Cinematography, and Editing, followed by ‘Atrangi Re’, which cast Sara Ali Khan and took home two awards for the background soundtrack and the choreography of the song ‘Chaka Chak’.

‘Thappad’ and ‘Shershah’ both got one for Dialogue and Screenplay. ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ got the award for Sound Design, while the movie ’83’ received the award for Sound Mixing.

The two most amazing Indian hosts, Farah Khan and Aparshakti Khurana, handled the stage in Abu Dhabi last evening. Asees Kaur, Guru Randhawa, Honey Singh, Zahrah S Khan, Neha Kakkar, Dhvani Bhanushali, Ash king, Tanishk Bagchi and Devi Sri Prasad all gave mind-blowing performances on the IIFA stage.

The mesmerizing evening was held inside Etihad Arena, the most extensive state-of-the-art indoor entertainment arena in Abu Dhabi and part of the Yas Bay Waterfront on Yas Island.

The grand finale of the ongoing event will be taking place on June 4, and the hosts for the evening will be Salman Khan, Manish Paul, and Riteish Deshmukh, as per the official website of IIFA.
