United Arab Emirates: The Abu Dhabi Police General Command has concluded its participation in the events of the 32nd session of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2023, which was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 22 to 28 May.

According to recent updates, the participation of the Saif bin Zayed Academy for Police Sciences and Security shared worksheets for distinguished Abu Dhabi Police Officers. The Abu Dhabi Police Force has taken its official social media handle and shared a glimpse of the conclusion event.

In addition, the virtual training centre provided lectures and workshops on the importance of reading during the event. The Police Heritage Department of Ceremony Management and PR participated in the “Virtual Square Police Museum” project, and photos embody the history of the historic castle.

The Directorate of Traffic and Patrols participated in digital traffic awareness and interactive experiments using augmented reality to teach traffic safety rules. The Directorate of Legal Affairs also participated in manuals on federal laws and, most importantly, Braille and Security Information Management.

The reports have stated that the awareness initiatives introduced visitors to the exhibition as a safety service to enhance the community’s role in keeping the community safe and stable. The Department of Police Follow-Up and Aftercare also participated in introducing visitors to the Traffic Reduction Program.

Furthermore, the Community Police Department participated in the “We Are All Police” initiative to showcase its efforts in instilling the importance of volunteer work. On his part, Colonel Nasser Abdullah Al-Saadi, Chairman of the Committee on Literature and Reading, confirmed the interest of the Abu Dhabi Police in promoting reading culture among categories of society as a sustainable practice.

It was emphasized that it focused on raising the levels of community culture and adopting reading as it has a vital role in expanding knowledge and enhancing the quality of life in society.

He explains that the committee participated in the exhibition by introducing visitors to the initiative “With the touch we all read”, which allows the reader to take advantage of a valuable collection of books in various fields in an innovative way by watching short videos by scanning QR Code on the smartphone available in the display screens on the driving platform.

In the end, the committee emphasized the willingness to continue launching initiatives that benefit the affiliates and also contribute to building a reader and educated community and consolidating the reading culture, which is the key to knowledge, bridge access to its facilities, and achieving the highest levels of innovation in various fields.
