Sydney, Australia: China’s increasing satellite surveillance has been noticed by the Australian space agency, which issued a warning related to that. Australia’s Defense Space Command has issued a statement mentioning the working on pathways to acquire so-called soft kill technology to overrun enemy’s satellites.

The reports updated that, previously, in February, a Chinese spy balloon was recently shot down by the US (United States) security agencies as it was accused of spying on military sites across the United States of America.

In comparison, the origin authorities of Balloon insisted that it was nothing more than a civilian aircraft which went off course.

Meanwhile, security experts in Australia have reasons to believe that the spy balloon incident has overshadowed the raised concerns about the surveillance threat from space.

On his part, the head of the trade group and Space Industry Association of Australia, James Brown, extended his remarks and said, “China has the possession of a large-scale space monitoring system with high technology.”

James Brown further told a broadcasting corporation, “The people here in the country do not realize that they are being monitored and surveilled by the Chinese satellites, which are hovering at just 100 to 200 kilometres above our heads.” He added, “China has been launching such satellites in large quantities yearly, and the activities are on the continuous rise.”

Moreover, the Defense Space Command of Australia has been working for the last year to acquire so-called soft-kill technology to destroy enemy satellites without causing dangerous debris in space.

Australian agencies are looking to develop technological and electronic warfare capability to disable enemy satellites instead of using missiles and nukes, said reports.

Additionally, Air Vice Marshal Cath Roberts, the command’s head, stated that a new update on the electronic warfare capabilities and the dangerous threats to the Australian satellites was published by Friday.

She added that ‘non-destructive’ means to tackle such conditions are essential need in this era to deal with enemy satellites.
