Funds from this celebrity match will be held in Shabab Alahli club’s stadium in Mamzar. The organisers said that this event would help raise funds for a charity.

The match organiser, Ayush Gupta of AG Events, said, “I have had this vision for a while, and now I can bring it to life on the football field. The fans are already rooting for ASFC, but we think Emirates United will drum up a lot of support too.”

The ASFC was founded by Bollywood film producer Bunty Walia and is guided by Bachchan as captain and Kapoor as vice-captain. Several celebs and famous personalities are members of the team, including actors Dino Morea, Aaryan, Jim Sarbh, Ahan Shetty, Aparshakti Khurana and Indian tennis star Leander Paes.

The aim of the team is to raise maximum funds for different charities while encouraging the Indians to play football, said Walia.

He further said, “Abhishek, Ranbir and Kartik are regularly practising along with other members for this. They are very passionate about the game and are super eager to play with Emirates United. We are all concentrating on the ‘giving back’ by supporting a good cause.”

Al Neyadi, who is also the president of the Emirates Aerosports Federation, vows to deliver “a thrilling performance”.

He said, “We are pleased to be hosting the ASFC in Dubai and, most importantly, for a good cause. Football is a game that binds people together, and despite whoever succeeds at the end, the essential thing is that the right objective is achieved.”
