Egypt, Cairo: The National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development – the training arm of the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development – held the second introductory meeting of the initiative “Reality, Security and Development Goals” for a group of children representing a number of countries in the African continent residing in the Arab Republic of Egypt, Cairo, yesterday on March 21, 2023.

The reports have stated that the meeting comes within a series of introductory meetings of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, in her speech delivered on behalf of Hanan Rezeq, Director of the Centre for African Development, Dr Sharif, Executive Director of the National Institute of Governance and Development Goals.

In addition, the first meeting was held with the children of the Youth Coordination of Parties and Politicians Initiative “Abna Adeebaa” Attended by 25 children and a girl from primary school.

Furthermore, the Executive Director of the NIGDG, Sharif, explained that the initiative launched by the African Development Center is part of a comprehensive plan by the Institute to spread awareness of national goals at the local and regional levels.

Moreover, Sharif also noted that it is based on presenting the 17 Sustainable Development Goals for children in the form of simplified and engaging stories aimed at Egyptian children as well as African language speakers in Arabia. 

Additionally, this comes in light of the Institute’s contribution to achieving the goals of Egypt Vision 2030 and the ambitions of the African continent Agenda 2063, “The Africa We Want”.

Sharif further explained and pointed out that at the end of every story, there is a simplified work plan to form a group of practical activities that children can do in order to reach the idea to children through different life situations.

Such techniques have been taken into consideration in their design to adapt to the habits and traditions of Egyptian society and help install and reflect positive values in children.

Preserving the environment and developing Egyptian and African communities is of great impact on meeting the continent’s current needs without compromising the potential of future generations, said reports.

It is noteworthy that the Executive Director of the National Institute of Governance and Development Goals, Sharif confirmed that the Institute was focused on developing and enhancing awareness, education and training tools to reach all in a more effective way for all categories of society.

The officials further noted that the launch of many successful initiatives for children, such as the Green Minds Initiative as well as a large number of initiatives Which targeted the Egyptian and African youth categories, initiatives targeted the Egyptian and African women category, as well as initiatives that contributed to the integration of groups with special needs also at the local and continental levels.
