Chinese Ambassador to Saint Lucia donates sports equipment to Sports Ministry

Saint Lucia: The Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Saint Lucia, Kenson Casimir, has recently hosted the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Peter Chen (Chia-yen-Chen), on the occasion of handing over ceremony of sports equipment of football and table tennis on Yesterday, February 02, 2023.   

Saint Lucia: The Minister of Youth Development and Sports, Saint Lucia, Kenson Casimir, has recently hosted the Republic of China (Taiwan) Ambassador to Saint Lucia, Peter Chen (Chia-yen-Chen), on the occasion of handing over ceremony of sports equipment of football and table tennis on Yesterday, February 02, 2023.   

As per the recent updates, the information was shared on the official social media handle of Saint Lucia’s Youth Development and Sports Ministry, where the officials stated that “The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has donated sporting equipment and goods to the ministry”.

In addition, both parties participated in the handing over ceremony of the essential football equipment and table tennis equipment donated by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Lucia yesterday.  

On his part, Minister of Youth Development and Sports Kenson Casimir has extended his gratitude and thankfulness towards China (Taiwan) Ambassador for his gesture and support shown towards the Saint Lucian sports and athletes. 

He added, “The sporting equipment donated by the Embassy will play a vital role in training the country’s sportspersons to excel in their careers”.

Furthermore, Minister Kenson Casimir of the Youth Development and Sports Ministry has stated that the officials from the Embassy have also previously provided the ministry with the crucial sports equipment used in football and table tennis. 

Additionally, he cited that this is the second occasion in the past six (6) months when the ministry received sporting goods and equipment from the Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassy.

Moreover, as per the Youth Development and Sports Ministry authorities, Saint Lucia has conveyed that Chinese Ambassador Peter Chen made the handing-over presentation to Kenson Casimir, where several other ministry officials were present and witnessed the ceremony.

The reports have also confirmed that the presentation of the sporting equipment for football and table tennis was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Caroline Eugene, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Mary Wilfred and Director of Sports, Jim Xavier of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports, Saint Lucia.
