Dominica: Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit, has recently shared an update as he welcomed Dr Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas, the Executive Director of the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) along with her delegation yesterday, on March 23, 2023.

According to the shared updates, Prime Minister of the Caribbean Island, Roosevelt Skerrit, took to his official social media handle to share the news with fellow Dominicans while expressing his greeting and thankfulness towards the AMEXCID Director, Dr Laura Cubillas, following her visit to Dominica.

In addition, while expressing his thoughts regarding the visit of Dr Laura Cubillas, PM Skerrit noted in his Facebook caption, “I welcomed a delegation from the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) this morning, led by Executive Director, Dr Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas.”

“She was accompanied by Luis Manuel Lopez Moreno, Ambassador-Designate of the United Mexican States to Dominica and Special Envoy of Mexico, and Actuary Gloria Sandoval Salas, General Director of the Mesoamerican Integration and Development project of AMEXCID, among other officials of AMEXCID,” added the Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica.

The reports have also stated that Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has extended his remarks through his official Facebook account and conveyed that the meeting was primarily focused on the enhancement of the progress of Mexico – CARICOM – FAO Initiative.

Furthermore, PM Skerrit also pointed out the significance of the association and bilateral cooperation between both parties to commit towards a better climatic condition in the state of the Caribbean.

As per the sources, it was further confirmed that Prime Minister Skerrit discussed various ways to improve the climate resilience infrastructure in the country with the Executive Director of AMEXCID, Dr Laura Laura Elena Carrillo Cubillas.

In the end, while pointing out the details and topics of the meeting, PM Skerrit noted that “We discussed the progress of the Mexico-CARICOM-FAO Initiative, “Cooperation for adaptation and resilience to climate change in the Caribbean,” and looked ahead to the Fifth Mexico-CARICOM Summit scheduled for May 2023.”
