Dominica: Prime Minister of Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit recently shed light on the initiatives that have been launched during the first month of 2025 in the island nation for its development and overall growth.
The leader, while highlighting these initiatives, stated that these steps are aimed at promoting agriculture, community enhancement and tourism. Â
As stated by the Prime Minister, the very first initiative or the step launched by the government of Dominica in 2025 was the ‘Town Hall Meeting Series’, which was focused on enhancing community developments.
The very first session of this meeting was held in Trafalgar, where the government officials and citizens engaged with one another through a constructive dialogue and also addressed concern over the national development updates. Â
PM Skerrit then noted the second initiative is focused on reviewing Dominica’s minimum wage, for which the work of establishing and organizing a Public-Private Sector Committee is underway.
The program will provide policy recommendations that will facilitate the enhanced review of the corporate income tax and minimum wage. Â
A contract by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Blue Green Economy was also signed with Ace Engineering Ltd on 10th January, to facilitate the construction of a Citrus Certification Facility in Londonderry.
