Under the stewardship of head coach Hemang Badani, the team is confident in its preparation and balance.

“Our core players give us the depth and versatility needed to tackle any challenge,” Badani remarked. “Our preparation has been intense, and I’m confident in our ability to compete at the highest level.”

Star-Studded Batting Lineup

The Capitals’ batting arsenal boasts an enviable mix of experience and explosive power. Leading the charge are David Warner, Jake Fraser McGurk, and new signing Ben Dunk, whose experience across global T20 leagues adds a layer of resilience to the lineup.

Power-hitter Sam Billings complements the top order with his ability to accelerate the innings. The middle order is bolstered by the likes of Rovman Powell, Najibullah Zadran, Shai Hope, and the promising Aryaman Varma.

Each player brings a unique dynamic, from Zadran’s finishing prowess to Varma’s youthful exuberance, making the Capitals a versatile force.

Sikandar Raza: Leading from the Front

Captain Sikandar Raza, in fine form on the international stage, aims to lead by example with his all-round abilities.

His leadership is complemented by the presence of Dasun Shanaka, another experienced all-rounder, who will provide stability in key moments. Young talents like Garuka Sanketh and Farhan Khan are set to make their mark, offering depth and flexibility to the squad.

Sharing his thoughts ahead of the season, Raza expressed confidence in the team’s potential: “Playing with this talented group of players is a privilege, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

“We have a perfect blend of power-hitters, technically sound batsmen, and versatile bowlers. The preparation phase has shown how well the team has bonded, and that unity will be key in the tournament.”

Bowling Brilliance

The Capitals’ bowling department is a potent mix of pace and spin. Leading the pace attack are Oliver Stone, Scott Kuggeleijn, and Obed McCoy, whose ability to deliver in crunch moments will be crucial.

The spin options are equally strong, with Sharafuddin Ashraf offering variety and control. All-rounders Gulbadin Naib and Shahrukh Ahmed add depth to the bowling lineup, providing game-changing options when needed.

Season Kickoff and Schedule Highlights

The Dubai Capitals’ campaign begins with back-to-back encounters against MI Emirates on January 11 and 13 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

They then face the Sharjah Warriors in a derby clash on January 17 before a quick turnaround to take on the Gulf Giants on January 18. A pivotal game against the Desert Vipers on January 20 in Dubai will cap off a challenging opening run.
