Dubai is set to dazzle residents and tourists alike with a breathtaking display of lights, fireworks, and drone shows as part of the 30th edition of the Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF).

Running from December 6, 2023, to January 12, 2024, the festival promises an unparalleled celebration featuring daily and themed shows that push the boundaries of entertainment and technology.

A Fusion of Fireworks and Drones

For the first time in its history, DSF will introduce “pyro drone shows” – a spectacular combination of fireworks and drones. These mesmerizing displays will light up the skies over Bluewaters Island and The Beach, JBR.

The first performance, featuring 150 pyro drones, will take place on December 13 at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, alongside skydiving stunts. The same awe-inspiring display will be reprised on the closing weekend on January 11, ensuring the festival ends on a high note.

Daily Drone Performances

The DSF Drone Show, a hallmark of the festival, returns with twice-daily performances at 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM at Bluewaters and The Beach. This year, an impressive fleet of 1,000 drones will take to the skies, creating intricate formations and visuals that captivate audiences.

The first theme, running from December 6 to 26, celebrates the rich legacy of DSF, taking spectators on a visual journey through the festival’s 30-year history.

During this period, drones will form a scannable QR code, allowing attendees to send personalized messages that will be displayed on December 13.

From December 27 to January 12, the second theme will showcase iconic Dubai landmarks in stunning 2D and 3D drone formations.

Fireworks and Illuminations Across the City

The iconic Dubai skyline will sparkle with free daily fireworks at 9:15 PM over Dubai Festival City Mall, while Hatta will host dazzling firework displays twice weekly on weekends at 8:00 PM.

These shows promise to bring a festive spirit to the entire city, drawing spectators from all corners of the emirate. Adding to the magic, the Dubai Lights installations will illuminate key locations across the city.

Incorporating cutting-edge technology and immersive projections, the installations are designed to celebrate the five elements: Water, Air, Fire, Energy, and Connection.

Visitors can explore these interactive displays at venues including Bluewaters Island, Al Seef, Dubai Design District, Al Marmoom, Kite Beach, and City Walk. Signature DSF events like the 321 Festival and DSF x Hatta will also feature the artistic installations.

Organisers have curated this year’s festival to offer a blend of international and local artistry, combining dynamic visual experiences with opportunities for interactive engagement.
