Cairo, Egypt: The Ministry of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad stated that the Immigration Minister seeks cooperation with the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister for Expatriate Affairs under the presidential initiative “Roots Revival”.

Ambassador Saha Jundi stated, “We are continuing to prepare joint programs for youth and expatriates from Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.”

Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs also informed, “We want to continue joint work in the triple framework of the “roots revival” initiative.”

Ambassador Saha Jundi, Minister of State for Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, held a meeting with George Koutseras, Deputy Greek Foreign Minister for Expatriates Affairs, on the margin of her participation in the World Conference on Expatriates, held in Nicosia, Cyprus, to enhance areas of cooperation between Egypt and Greece in all areas of mutual interest, according to the update by the Government.

The meeting was attended by both Demetris Yoldasis, Director of the Diplomatic Council of the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Sarah Mamoun, Assistant Minister of Immigration for Projects and Conferences, and Consultants and members of the Egyptian and Greek Embassies in Cyprus.

Ambassador Saha Jundi, the Minister of Immigration, expressed her happiness and welcome at this meeting, saying, “Today I am very happy to meet friends with whom we unite an old and promising history.”

During her meeting with the Deputy Greek Foreign Minister for Expatriates Affairs, the Minister of Immigration added that this meeting was held to discuss many proposals and joint agreements in the fields of immigration, tourism and investment, and other topics of common interest based on our close historical relationship.

On his part, George Koutseras, Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Expatriates, welcomed his deep gratitude and appreciation for all the efforts made by the Minister of Immigration to support all classes of the Greek community living on the land of Egypt, emphasizing the deep love of the Greek people for Egypt and its civilization, and the importance of bilateral work To strengthen the pillars of stability in both countries, which is what the discussion between President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, during his meeting with his Greek counterpart.

The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs has asked the Ministry of Education and the Egyptian concerned ministries to facilitate residency procedures and work permits for Greek teachers working in Greek schools, which promised to consult with the relevant ministries to resolve.
