Cairo, Egypt: Signing a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the fields of improving the quality and efficiency of hospitals, medical centers and health facilities belonging to the Ministry of Health and Population was witnessed by the Prime Minister of Egypt.

Dr Mustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Cabinet, witnessed today, at the government headquarters in the new city of Alameen, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health and Population, represented in the trust of specialized medical centers, and “Elevate for Hospital Management” company to cooperate in the areas of improving the quality and efficiency of hospitals, medical centers and health facilities of the Ministry of Health & Population, in what is being done The partnership between the public and private sectors in this regard, in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Dr. Mohamed Hassani, Assistant Minister of Health and Population for Public Health Projects and Initiatives, Dr. Tariq Muharram, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elevate Hospital Management, and Mr. Remy Toulier, Legal Representative for the French National Oncology Center Gustave Rossi.

The Memorandum of Understanding comes from the state’s vision to improve and meet the needs of Egypt’s health sector, sustainably in line with Vision 2030.

The Memorandum of Understanding contributes to strengthening the framework of partnership between the public and private sectors in the fields and activities of mutual interest, including the management, operation and maintenance of hospitals, medical centers and health facilities belonging to the Ministry of Health and Population.

In this context, the two sides agreed to develop the Dar Al-Salam Cancer Center – Hermel – to become a subsidiary of “Gustav Rossi” in Egypt, as well as to establish, manage and operate new hospitals and medical centers, pump new investments in the health sector and enhance the private sector presence in the Egyptian market, in addition to the strategic partnership for capacity building and support initiatives Humanities working in the field of health, as well as the strategic partnership for sustainability of presidential initiatives in healthcare sector, and interlateral partnership in clinical research and scientific research.

On the margin of signing, the Minister of Health and Population clarified that areas of cooperation include several styles, including cooperation to establish a joint technical committee to determine the most effective partnership model for operating and managing health facilities, and the two parties identifying a strategic partner between the institutions of the Ministry of Health and Populations to establish cooperation for training and education of health workers. Organizing programs for knowledge transfer between parties, preparing programs for fellowships from European or UK hospitals, also cooperation on the provision of strategic advisory services, as well as cooperation in the development of private projects, which include targeted partnership areas.

Through the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties seek to strengthen the aspects of the partnership by appointing a representative to exchange reports with different parties, exchanging information on the data related to the hospitals that the partnership will be activated, and providing unique solutions and projects.
