Middle East: The Minister of Housing, Facilities and Civil Societies, Dr Asim Al-Jazar, followed the projects being implemented in the new city of Assiut, Upper Egypt

He confirmed the Ministry’s intention and preparations to complete the implementation of the comprehensive development plan in various cities, especially projects carried out to serve the people of Upper Egypt.

On his part, Minister of Housing Asim Al-Jazar briefed on the executive position of a number of projects being implemented in New Assiut, which included residential and various service projects, utilities and electricity projects.

Along with the allocation of several investment lands to meet the needs of current and future residents of the city, residential plots, extending road networks, facilities and electricity to modern areas, and other projects, he added.

In the same context, Engineer Jihan Ahmed Ammar, Head of the New Assiut City Development Authority, explained that the projects being implemented in New Assiut are working to improve the services provided to citizens, such as housing projects, road development, raising the efficiency of electricity and facilities, agriculture, beautification and so on.

He further cited that the services have had an impact in creating an attractive climate for citizens For housing in the new Assiut city, noting that in this framework, more than 50 pieces of investment service land have been allocated with various areas and activities such as:

(residential/commercial/administrative commercial/residential administrative commercial / bakery/service centre/car maintenance/warehouses / industrial), Over 2,700 pieces of residential land (medium – premium housing), sold over 16 plots (industrial warehouses), and sold over 150 pieces of cemetery land.

In his remarks, the head of the new Assiut City Authority, Jihan Ahmed Ammar, explained that the implementation of (27) buildings within the presidential initiative, the housing of all Egyptians in the limited income axis, five commercial markets in different areas of the city, a bakery in the southeast expanses, and ten private sector retail centres are being implemented. In addition, 19 commercial shops and units were sold Professionally and administratively through the auction.

The Public University in New Assiut City, Sphinx University with 40 acres, Technology University with 15 acres, Smart City school in the regional area, two private sector schools under implementation, and coordinating with the Ministry of communications to run a school (we), and the Technology University with the 15-acre area.

Engineer Jihan Ammar further said the Assiut Security Directorate building, a police station, a service station and a car maintenance centre were operated, and a Vodafone administrative headquarters and two banks were constructed.

Ammar also announced that 15 microbuses were operated, 29 buses were replaced with microbuses, and the approval of the maintenance of the province to operate 20 microbuses, a sign that the development works of the road linking the mother city of Assiut and the new city of Assiut.

Notably, Engineer Jihan Ahmed Ammar confirmed that the city administration was keen to complete the implementation of the comprehensive development plan in all sectors, the city’s advancement and the development of services that meet the requirements and convenience of the residents of the new Assiut city.
