And the crisis entered its final turn, represented by his filing a claim for alimony against his wife, according to the text of Article 151 of the Coptic Orthodox Bylaw.

The husband said that he had filed a claim for alimony against his wife due to the deterioration of his financial condition, and as a result of which, his wife slandered his living for reasons beyond his control, given the deterioration of his working conditions, as he works as a lawyer and his income does not exceed two thousand pounds.

In his lawsuit, the husband confirmed the deterioration of his condition following the conditions of Corona. The work of the courts was disrupted for a long time, and therefore he lost his source of livelihood in addition to the fact that he did not have social insurance, nor any source of livelihood other than his work, according to what was stated in the social insurance.

The husband explained that “his wife works in real estate and has a fixed income of 15,000 pounds, and owns a luxury car, and it turns out that Article 151 of the Coptic Orthodox Regulation states that the wife is obligated to alimony for her insolvent husband and if he does not have a source of income, and she is able to spend on it.” .

The husband added that he repeatedly tried to urge the advertiser to help him with spending, given the circumstances of his monthly income.

And the husband continued in his lawsuit, “During all this past period, he was working, finding and spending on the marital home without asking for any amounts from her salary, and that all she was aiming for was toil on him, and he suffered in his exhausting work, which is now half a job, indicating that she was collecting her salary. Monthly for herself, and the biggest proof of that is her purchase of a newer model car.
