India: The Nagamese Baptist Church Kevijau (NBCK) established the Roshni Mantraalay Ministry (RMM) on Sunday in an effort to promote the welfare of women, people with disabilities (PwDs), and the general public. Also, the ministry will be accessible to all PwDs, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, or culture. Each Sunday at 1:30 pm, a regular devotional session will be held.
In a statement on the RMM, pastor NBCK Lanuakum Ozukum claimed that the organisation would endeavour to address social issues and inform people about how to maintain a healthy psycho-social-economic well-being.
According to him, RMM will focus on the four campaigns listed below: Nyay Abhiyan, which promotes justice for individuals with disabilities; Bala Abhiyan, which raises awareness of better parenting and child abuse; Prakrti Abhiyan, which conserves the environment (PwD).
He explained that the ministry’s name had been given extensive exposure in Hindi so that everyone from different backgrounds in the nation could comprehend and take advantage of the many activities run by the ministry.
Deithono Nakhro, the disability commissioner and special guest at the programme, stated that people with disabilities (PwDs) do not have a lower standing in society than other people but rather have the same status as everyone else. She claimed that in order for PwDs to investigate potential opportunities, there was a significant gap created by society’s indirect and direct distance from them.
According to Nakhro, including people with disabilities in all educational settings and platforms will give them access to a competitive workplace in all areas of employment. She argued that churches are strong platforms and can serve as role models; therefore, she urged people to embrace the initiative of RMM and raise awareness so that PwDs may be grouped together and given access to all required programmes and opportunities.
Earlier, the programme was presided over by pastor NBCK Lanuakum Ozukum, and deacon NBCK Toshi Ozukum gave the invocation. The founder of the “Living Bread Ministry,” S. Aosungkum Ozüküm, shared testimonies of his ministry. Rev. Alem Jamir delivered the message, and the Nagamese Baptist Church’s deaconess Kevijau Sunita gave the vote of thanks
