Abu Dhabi, UAE – The city’s taxi service landscape has been revolutionized with the launch of Yango, an international ride-hailing smart application, as announced by Abu Dhabi Mobility.

This innovative addition to the emirate’s transport options allows residents to book public and private taxis, as well as licensed private vehicles, through a single, user-friendly app.

The introduction of Yango marks a significant shift in Abu Dhabi’s transportation sector. In the trial phase over the past five months, the service has already seen notable success. More than 300 taxis have operated within the emirate, facilitating over 8,000 trips through the Yango app.

The mobile application has rapidly gained traction, boasting over 1,500 registered taxis and is available for free download on both iOS and Android platforms. The app supports multiple languages, including Arabic and English, to cater to a diverse user base.

To use Yango, passengers simply open the app, specify their destination, and enable geolocation. The app’s advanced technology pinpoints the user’s location and matches them with the nearest available driver, ensuring prompt and efficient service. This streamlined process promises to enhance the convenience of taxi rides across Abu Dhabi.

One of Yango’s standout features is its commitment to addressing a common concern among taxi passengers: lost items. The app encourages drivers to return any found personal belongings either directly to the owner or to the nearest police station.

Furthermore, drivers are required to document all information related to lost items and collaborate with franchise companies to report these details to Abu Dhabi Mobility as needed.

In addition to Yango, commuters still have the option to book taxis through the Abu Dhabi Taxi app or by calling 600535353. However, Yango’s advanced features and global technology integration offer a fresh and modern alternative for residents and visitors alike.

Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director General of the Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility), emphasized the impact of integrating international technology into the emirate’s transport system.

“Offering the service through international apps enhances the overall efficiency of taxi operations. It facilitates the process of locating vehicles and booking rides electronically for all members of the community,” Al Marzouqi said.

He highlighted that this initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s environmental goals by improving the operational efficiency of taxis and contributing to a reduction in the emirate’s carbon footprint.

Islam Abdul Karim, General Manager of Yango GCC, expressed enthusiasm about the launch. “We’re honoured to launch Yango in Abu Dhabi, partnering with Abu Dhabi Mobility.

This collaboration brings together innovative technology and advanced world-class infrastructure, promising enhanced urban mobility and a seamless transportation experience for residents and tourists,” Abdul Karim remarked.

He also noted the company’s commitment to driving progress and innovation in the emirate’s transportation sector. Yango, a subsidiary of the global tech company Yango Group, specializes in daily transport and logistics solutions.

Its entry into the Abu Dhabi market reflects a broader trend of integrating sophisticated technology into urban transport systems, aiming to meet the evolving needs of modern cities.

As Yango continues to expand its services, Abu Dhabi’s residents and visitors can look forward to a more efficient, accessible, and environmentally friendly taxi service.

The app’s launch not only enhances the city’s transportation infrastructure but also sets a new standard for smart, technology-driven public services in the region.
