Jammu and Kashmir, India: A total of three prestigious healthcare institutions in Jammu and Kashmir have received National Certifications from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) under the supervision of ‘LaQashya Programme’. The certifications were handed over to the health care centres for many facilities and improvements in the premises.

According to the latest reports, the certifications also marked the qualitative development and enhancement of the Maternity Operation Theatres and Labour Rooms, which would facilitate the treatment of the patients with better facilities, Jammu and Kashmir Department of Information and Public Relations on Wednesday reported.

In addition, the ceremony of handing over the certificates was performed to recognize the high quality and standards of the health care centres to ensure the required and respectful care in labour and maternity rooms and OTs.

The certificates were given to three institutions, including Government Lalla Ded Hospital Srinagar, the Government Hospital of Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, along with District Hospital of Ganderbal. 

In order to select the institutions for the awards, they were assessed and inspected by a team of highly qualified and empaneled assessors instructed by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, reported sources.

The inspection was conducted in the month of February and March this year; the certifications will be valid for a period of three years, which will require annual verification of the scores by the Committee of State Quality Assurance.

As per the sources, the Secretary of Health and Medical Education, Bhupinder Kumar, has extended his congratulations and greetings to the staff of all three government healthcare institutions for their accomplishments and achievements.

He further emphasized the District Hospitals, Medical Colleges, along with CHCs, to work hard for the timely implementation of standards set by the LaQshya Programme for maintaining facilities in Maternity OTs and Labour Rooms for better care around the newborns.

NHM Jammu and Kashmir, Mission Director Ayushi Sudan extended her congratulatory messages and heartfelt greetings to the teams of the hospitals for their facilities and accomplishments. 

She emphasized that along with the current facilities, a number of other facilities are now underway for the NQAS, LaQshya and MusQan certification for Quality. The services will be improved across the Union Territory, which will prove to be a significant change in the health centres.
