Abu Dhabi, UAE: The parent firm of Facebook – META has opened a new regional headquarters in Dubai Internet City. The inauguration of the office took place on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, inaugurated the headquarters office.
Sheikh Hamdan shared the news via his official social media handle of Twitter and tweeted, “Today witnessed the opening of the new regional headquarters of “Meta” company in Dubai Internet City.“
“Dubai continues to strengthen its partnerships with major international technology companies within an ambitious vision aimed at pioneering the creation of the future“, the tweet of Crown Prince further adds.
From this new office, the firm will be operating its regional functions in MENA. It will also provide support to more than 3 billion users of social media platforms across the world.
Sheikh Hamdan then added, “Dubai’s infrastructure and business environment has promoted the emirate as a hub for major technology companies around the world. Today, Dubai Internet City hosts 95,000 employees working and living in Dubai”.
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Dubai Internet City – Ammar Al Malik, stated, “Dubai’s reputation for business friendliness and a globally competitive business landscape have tremendously spurred the growth of the UAE. For more than two decades, Dubai Internet City has helped the emirate achieve economic diversification while catalysing digital transformation across the MENA region.”
Al-Malik highlighted while stating the significance of various tech giants for the city as well as UAE, “Tech giants like Meta and Visa play an essential role in enriching innovation with their wealth of resources and insight, and boost the export of digital solutions designed for the needs of regional consumers.”
