Although this was the biggest issue for a long time but  previous government did not take any specific decision to resolve  it. The previous regime of the Harris-led government failed miserably and did not pay any heed to this.  Moreover, the Previous government also restrained the water drilling company “BEAD” from any drilling work which  hit the drillining work hugely.

On the other hand, when  Dr Drew assumed office as Prime Minister, the government immediately made the quick decision to make sure the water supply reached every corner of the country.

Soon after coming into power PM Drew led the government of labour party reengaged the water drilling company“BEAD” to resume the work. As a result today the people in the Cayon have availed the facility of safe, clean drinking water. The well has the capacity of supplying more than 400000 gallons of water daily.

PM Drew also took to his social media handles and shared this information. PM stated in the Facebook post “Greetings to all ,  Cayon well finally has been commissioned.  The people of Cayon will now have a more consistent supply of water without any inconvenience.”

The PM also expressed his gratitude to Minster Konris G M  Maynard, the minister of public infrastructure, energy, utilities, domestic transport, ICT&post, and other colleagues of the cabinet for the successful execution of the work.   Minister Konris G M Maynard also congratulated the people for the restoration of the 24-hour water supply for Cayon residents. He also announced that the efforts will be streamlined to end the water crisis in other areas soon.

Soon after PM, Drew shared this development on his Facebook page netizens extended their best wishes.  A Facebook user Viona Garnett commented “Better with Labour. Thank you PM Dr.Drew and Hon.Konris Maynard. Great job. Keep up the good work. That’s a Wow . I love my Labour party.”
