While shedding light on the updated infrastructure, Morton stated that the new hospital will have exterior glazing and acoustic screening to prevent outdoor noise entering the hospital. He noted that the intensive care unit (ICU) beds and the high dependency beds will be provided to patients as single occupancy rooms and not in an open ward system.

Facilities added in the new design

Morton added that the new hospital will have a single acute care inpatient room or a twin inpatient room but no more than that. The rooms will have all necessary equipment including outlets for data, oxygen, electricals, medical gases and more. The enhanced design includes a maternity unit, trauma center, and doctors providing all sorts of basic treatment from Cardiology, Dermatology, ENT, Mammography, Neurology, Nephrology and others.

Capacity of new JNF hospital
