PM Philip J Pierre vouches for Saint Lucia at Saudi Arabia – Caricom Summit

Castries, Saint Lucia: The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip J Pierre, is representing his country at the first Saudi Arabia – CARICOM Summit.

PM Pierre will be joining several other Heads of CARICOM member States at the event. The Summit is being held in Saudi Arabia under the patronage of the Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud.

The Prime Minister reached Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was given a warm reception by the Deputy Governor of Riyadh Region. Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz was accompanied by several other government officials while welcoming Prime Minister Pierre.

He shared the update of his arrival in Saudi Arabia through his social media. One of the images featured in the social media update features the Prime Minister greeting the Deputy Governor of Riyadh. Meanwhile, the second image features PM Pierre interacting with fellow heads of state at the meeting.

Some of the heads of state who are attending the Saudi Arabia – CARICOM Summit include:

Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit. He co-chairs the Summit, leading the other member states into the discussion.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud has called on the CARICOM leaders for the Summit to deepen bilateral relations and facilitate new partnerships between CARICOM member states and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Prime Minister of Saint Lucia spoke to the leadership of Saudi Arabia on various issues of national importance. With these discussions, the Prime Minister restated his commitment to working for the people of Saint Lucia.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Philip J Pierre said he was looking forward to collaborating with Saudi Arabia for future projects. Notably, he mentioned the reconstruction of St. Jude Hospital and the George Odlum Stadium for the people of Saint Lucia.
