Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew was among the federal cabinet of St Kitts and Nevis to visit the newly constructed climate-smart model home in Conaree on Monday. He shared some glimpses from the first-ever look of the house and announced its official opening on Thursday, March 14th, 2024.

In a social media post, shared earlier on Monday, PM Drew shared that the home, was developed by the East Coast Housing Development Ltd and facilitated by the National Housing Corporation (NHC). It is set for its official unveiling on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in Conaree at 9:00 AM.

Further, he also highlighted the aim of the model home and underlined the Federal cabinet’s vision towards its development.

“The Federal Cabinet’s tour of the model home underscores the government’s dedication to fostering sustainable development and providing affordable housing solutions that cater to the modern needs of its citizens,” PM Drew added.

At last, He also expressed his hope and pleasure towards this significant development and said, “The official opening of the climate-smart home marks a significant milestone in St. Kitts and Nevis’ journey towards environmental sustainability and improved living standards for its residents.”

This is to be noted that this initiative is a part of the Government of St Kitts and Nevis’s plan to construct around Twenty-four hundred homes with advanced technology and Climate resilience for deserving families of the nation.

Dr Denzil Douglas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in St Kitts and Nevis also announced the official opening of the house via his social media handle on Tuesday.

“Model Smart House at Conaree, a partnership between the National Housing Corporation (NHC) and East Coast Housing Development Ltd Members of Cabinet had the opportunity to tour the house and surroundings on Monday. An Open House will be held on Wednesday 13th March, 8 am-7 pm. The Official unveiling will be held on Thursday 14th March. Building more Homes for our People,” he added.

Meanwhile, several people expressed their hope and poured their heartfelt wishings upon the Prime Minister for this significant move. A user identified as Sis Kute Gilbert added, “OMG IS THIS ST. KITTS IM SUPER PROUD.BEAUTIFUL GORGEOUS ON POINT FABULOUS..I NEED 1”
