Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: The Prime Minister and Minister of Health of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew, welcomed the Ambassador of Switzerland to the island nation, Rita Hammerli Weschke, on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Prime Minister’s Office. During her visit, the Ambassador was accompanied by her delegation, including Honorary Consul General of Switzerland Ernest Amory.

According to the updates, following the visit of the Ambassador of Switzerland to St Kitts and Nevis, Rita Weshchke, Prime Minister Terrance Drew also received the Ambassador of the Republic of Peru accredited to the Twin-island Federation, Maria Cecilla Ross Ponce De Leon, at the Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition, Prime Minister Terrance Drew took to his official social media handle to share information regarding the visits of both the Ambassadors of Switzerland and the Republic of Peru to the nation. He stated that the representatives of both countries were welcomed on the sidelines of the currently going Diplomatic Week, 2023.

In addition, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis – Terrance Drew, also shared a number of photographs and glimpses from his meetings with the Ambassadors of the ally countries of the nation.

In his remarks, he also outlined that during the meetings, he was also joined by his small delegation, including Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Adelcia Connor-Ferlance along with Foreign Service Officer Orin Roberts.

During the meetings, PM Drew held numerous discussions and brief dialogues with the Ambassadors of Switzerland, Rita Weshchke and the Republic of Peru, Maria Ponce De Leon, respectively, over a variety of topics, said reports. It was also claimed that the engaged parties stressed finding innovative ways and frameworks to strengthen the bilateral cooperation between their respective countries.

The reports also said that the meeting was conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis, and the Ambassadors were welcomed by the government of the Island nation with warm greetings.

Furthermore, under the leadership and supervision of Prime Minister Terrance Drew, the country is hosting Diplomatic Week, 2023 event in order to enhance the diplomatic relationships with its companion nations, reports added. It was also said that the representatives of a number of countries had been invited to attend the event and present their contributions to further promote diplomatic ties among their countries.
