Red and Yellow Fog Alerts Issued as Visibility Drops Across the UAE

The alert is in effect from 7:33 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. today. Additionally, a yellow alert for fog and reduced visibility is active from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The warnings signal that visibility may decrease further at times, prompting motorists and travelers to exercise caution

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a red alert for fog, warning of significant reductions in horizontal visibility across the UAE.

The alert is in effect from 7:33 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. today. Additionally, a yellow alert for fog and reduced visibility is active from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. The warnings signal that visibility may decrease further at times, prompting motorists and travelers to exercise caution.

Earlier forecasts had predicted fair weather with occasional cloud cover, particularly towards the east and south by the afternoon. However, the current conditions have prompted a more urgent response from the NCM as the dense fog affects visibility.

The NCM’s forecast also indicated that the weather would be humid during the night and into Tuesday morning, with the potential for fog or mist formation in some coastal and internal areas. This is consistent with the conditions experienced today, where reduced visibility has been a major concern.

In addition to the fog alerts, light to moderate winds are expected throughout the day, which may intensify at times, leading to blowing dust.

These winds will contribute to the overall haziness and could further impact visibility. The sea conditions are forecasted to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, with no significant changes anticipated.

Humidity levels are projected to rise significantly, potentially reaching up to 90 percent in internal regions, as well as in coastal areas and islands. The high humidity, combined with the fog, is likely to exacerbate visibility issues.

Temperatures across the UAE will range between 32°C and 42°C in Abu Dhabi and between 31°C and 38°C in Dubai. The temperature fluctuations, alongside the high humidity, could create a challenging environment for residents and visitors alike.

Motorists are advised to be cautious while traveling, particularly during the red and yellow alert periods. Reduced visibility can significantly impact driving conditions, making it essential to reduce speed and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles.

Residents and travelers are encouraged to stay updated with the latest weather advisories and alerts from the NCM to ensure safety and preparedness. For real-time updates and further information, follow KT on WhatsApp Channels.

As the day progresses, it is crucial to remain vigilant and adjust travel plans if necessary to avoid any disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.
