Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Ernest Hilaire has recently extended his heartiest congratulations and gratitude towards the national Olympic athlete and sprinter Julien Alfred following her recent accomplishment in the ongoing championship in Lubbock, Texas.

Saint Lucia: Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia Ernest Hilaire has recently extended his heartiest congratulations and gratitude towards the national Olympic athlete and sprinter Julien Alfred following her recent accomplishment in the ongoing championship in Lubbock, Texas.

As per the reports, The Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information of Saint Lucia, Hilaire, took to his official social media handle to share the news reading the record-breaking sprints Alfred has accomplished in the championship.

While congratulating the athlete, he said, “Congratulations to our very own Julien Alfred, who completed the 60M Sprint at the 2023 Big 12 Indoor Championships in 6.97 seconds. The championship is taking place in Lubbock, Texas.”

In addition, Deputy PM Hilaire has also extended his greeting to sprinter Julien Alfred for breaking her own previous record, which she had set earlier this month of 7.00 seconds for a sprint. 

He furthermore pointed out the hard work she has been putting in to become a notable name in the sports for Saint Lucia, which made her secure her position among the top 10 fastest sprinters in the history of the nation.

Julien Alfred has also broken the NCAA collegiate record three times in a row and ranked eighth (8th) among the fastest sprinters in Saint Lucia following her impressive achievement in the Big 12 Indoor Championships. Said Deputy PM Hilaire.

Meanwhile, through his social media post, the Deputy Prime Minister of Saint Lucia also recognised another achievement of Alfred and praised her following her recent performance in (Two hundred) 200-metre sprints. 

He stated, “Further congratulations are also in order for Julien Alfred as she wins the 200M race in 22.26 seconds. This time is the 2nd fastest NCAA time ever and 4th fastest time in the world all time!”

Furthermore, he concluded his congratulatory message by wishing the Saint Lucian athlete the best wishes for her future championships and said, “Continue making your country proud.” “We are proud of your achievements, and you have our support. Congratulations once again, Julien.”
