Halfway Tree, St Kitts and Nevis: Dr Terrance Drew – The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, has shared a glimpse of Pre Labour-Day meeting held in Halfway Tree Constituency Number 04 on the sidelines of the Labour Weekend Celebrations 2023.
The event was held yesterday, April 20, 2023, at 8 pm and hosted several other ministers from St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP).
The update was shared through the official social media handle of Prime Minister Terrance Drew, who expressed his pleasure regarding the event held in Constituency Four.
In his remarks, he noted that as the nation approaches World Labour Day on May 1, 2023, the ministers of SKNLP have been engaging in a number of different events and occasions to celebrate the Labour Day Weekend, 2023.
Meanwhile, a number of ministers of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party participated in the pre–Labour Day Meeting, including Prime Minster of the Federation – Terrance Drew, Minister of Agriculture, Marine Resources, Fisheries and Cooperatives, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Sports and the Creative Economy, Samal Duggins along with few other Ambassadors.
During yesterday’s event, Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources, delivered his opening speech and addressed the people of Halfway Tree constituency regarding the Labour Day celebrations.
During his address, he conveyed that the government of St Kitts and Nevis is honoured for receiving the support and love from the people of Constituency four regarding backing the SKNLP government and giving it a chance to serve the nation.
He extended his remarks, expressed immense joyfulness and happiness towards the people, and thanked them for electing him as the representative of the Halfway Tree constituency in August last year.
Minister Duggins also claimed that the government of SKNLP expresses deep gratitude for the opportunity to serve the people of Constituency Four.
Furthermore, while expressing his joy, Duggins also said that electing the government of the labour party was the best decision that the people of Halfway Tree made last year.
He noted, “You have elected a man that is always going to be with you, for you and among you in every situation.” He told the residents that he would never turn his back on them and would go tooth and nail to serve the people with best practices.
On his part, the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Terrance Drew carried forward the address at the Pre Labour Day meeting held in Halfway Tree constituency yesterday, April 20, 2023.
In his remarks, he expressed his pleasure to be back with the country’s people. While addressing his fellow nationals, “Comrades, we are outside again, and it is beautiful to meet with you again. I miss you,” he noted.
He extended his address and called out to the Halfway Tree people that it has been seven months since the elections last August, and the government of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party has achieved significant success in all fields.
He thanked the residents for electing the labour party as their government and said, “Without you, it could not be possible, and that is why everything resides with you.”
He continued his speech and expressed his deepest gratitude to be able to serve the nation under his governance.
He outlined that the government of SKNLP has delivered so much in that short seven months in all possible spheres, such as regionally, internationally and locally, in a significant manner.
Notably, the Prime Minister of the twin island federation – Terrance Drew, also acknowledged the efforts and hard work done by the cabinet of his ministers.
He asked the public to applaud the cabinet ministers who have been doing an exceptional job in serving the nation and its people substantially. He stated that he had conveyed earlier that the labour government’s A team was the best team to be elected as the government of the island country.
