Prime Minister and Minister of Health of St Kitts and Nevis – Dr Terrance Drew, are currently on his visit to Washington DC, United States of America, along with his delegation to attend the World Bank Spring Meeting, 2023. During the meeting, he will be accompanied by several top members of his cabinet who will assist the PM during the important discussions.

As per the recent updates, Prime Minister Terrance Drew’s delegation includes Mrs Versilie Francis, Director, Fiscal Affairs & Policy in the Ministry of Finance and Ms Naeemah Hazelle, Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office for the World Bank Spring Meeting for 2023.

In addition, the information was shared through the official social media of the Prime Minister of the twin island federation, Terrance Drew. In his Facebook caption, he cited that the events are being commemorated from April 10 to 16 this year in Washington DC, U.S.

Furthermore, it was conveyed that the International Monetary Fund (IMF), along with the World Bank Group (WBG), bring together the important parties together during the Spring Meetings with the assistance of the Board of Governors, which read as follows;

– Ministers of Finance and development
– Bankers
– World business executives and business people,
– Legislators
– Members of Civil society organizations
– Academics to discuss global issues
– The fights against poverty organizations
– Economic development

Meanwhile, a number of events are scheduled to be held during the entire period of World Bank Spring Meetings, 2023, such as essential seminars and press conferences, along with briefings targeting regional challenges and issues. Moreover, several other events specifically devoted to a few sectors will be organized as well, such as the financial system, international development and global economy, which are included in the agenda.

While sharing detailed information about the World Bank Spring Meetings for 2023, Prime Minister Terrance Drew also stated that on the sidelines of the meeting, he would also be engaging with the diaspora of St Kitts and Nevis living in the U.S., He shared that the diaspora will be held on April 15, 2023, following which he extended the heartiest invitation to the St Kittians and Nevisians to attend the event.

The diaspora meeting is scheduled to be held at St Kitts and Nevis Embassy in Washington, D.C., 3216 New Mexico Ave N.W., with the people living in different U.S. states such as Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) from 4 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023. PM Drew has mentioned that everyone is invited to the discussion, where he will be addressing the essential role of the diaspora in strengthening the relationship between the countries by being the face of St Kitts and Nevis.

After the diaspora meeting, Prime Minister Drew will travel to Trinidad and Tobago and will be accompanied by his small delegation, such as National Security, Ms Cecile Hull, Advisor to the Ministry of Health, Dr Patrick Martin, Ministry of Health, Dr Sharon Archibald and Permanent Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office, Ms Naeemah Hazelle.

During his visit to Trinidad and Tobago, he will participate in the Regional Symposium on “Violence as a Public Health Issue – The Crime Challenge.” Notably, PM Drew claimed that Hon. Konris Maynard would be the acting Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis during his absence.
