By performing the traditional lama dance on the birthday of the Guru Padmasambhava, the monks paid their offering and tribute to world peace by showcasing their compassion. Tibetans and monks prayed for the Guru Padmasambhava before performing the regional dance form.

The traditional dance form named lama dance is a pure depiction and drama of the reincarnation of the 8th Lord Padmasambhava. The Buddhist monks enacted such a process in the form of the traditional dance form and welcomed the lord here.

To perform the regional and traditional dance form, certain Tibetan musical instruments are being used along with a special outfit, including conventional hats and caps with a mask on the face. The whole process of the dance performance is based on the tribute and respect paid to the guru Padmasambhava.

The Buddhist monks performed the lama dance, celebrated it as the guru’s birthday, and prayed for the health and long life of the Dalai Lama along with other high Lamas. During the performance, monks offered world peace and prosperity while preserving their centuries-old tradition.

The Birthday of the Guru Rinpoche (Guru Padmasambhava) is celebrated on the 10th day of the 4th month according to the Tibetan calendar. Furthermore, as per the lunar calendar of Tibet, all the monks and lamas have been doing the traditional dance as rituals for the offerings.

Through this, the preaching of the Guru Padmasambhava is being practised, said a Tibetan Buddhist monk and Secretary at Dorjeedak Tibetan Buddhist Monastery named Shedup Mipham. He added that the teachings and rituals are performed for world peace.
