United Arab Emirates: Dubai Police Force Department has recently launched a “Tour Dubai Safely” initiative, an awareness campaign organized for Tour Companies drivers. 

As per the updates, Dubai Police have officially introduced an awareness initiative titled ‘Tour Dubai Safely’ to educate drivers about traffic laws and public safety guidelines for dune cruising.

As per the information, the event was hosted by the Tourist Police Department of Dubai along with Al Faqa’a Police Station and Lahbab Police Station. In addition, the awareness initiative targeted drivers of tour companies operating, namely in the Margham, Al Aweer, and Lahbab areas of the nation.

On his part, Brigadier Khalfan Al Jallaf, Director of the Tourist Police Department, confirmed that this initiative is part of a series of awareness campaigns and programs carried out per the directives of Lieutenant General and Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri. 

It was conveyed that the initiative is designed to target drivers and motorists to raise traffic and road safety awareness and ultimately ensure the safety and security of our community.

During the ‘Tour Dubai Safely’ initiative drive, the tour drivers were briefed in detail on the significance of preparing vehicles for obstacles and bumpy conditions they may encounter, monitoring and adjusting the tyre pressures, and carrying their off-road emergency supplies. 

Brigadier Al-Jallaf further added that emergency supplies during travelling are a necessity which should include a safety kit and necessities. Moreover, motorists were also urged to switch to four-wheel drive and drive slowly and steadily to manoeuvre easily across the desert.

During the end, Brigadier Al Jallaf indicated that 3,000 awareness brochures were distributed among 1,500 drivers in the Lahbab area, 1,000 in Al Aweer, and 500 in Margham.

He reaffirmed their eagerness to spread awareness of traffic laws and road safety at the level of the emirate and how to contact Dubai Police in emergencies (on 999) and non-emergency cases (on 901).
