UAE President Extends Warm Wishes to Emirati Women on Emirati Women’s Day

Abu Dhabi, UAE — On the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, celebrated annually on August 28, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed heartfelt congratulations and appreciation for the women of the United Arab Emirates.

The day, dedicated to honoring Emirati women and their significant contributions to the country, highlights their role in the nation’s progress and development.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed praised Emirati women for their unwavering dedication and commitment.

He acknowledged their crucial role in shaping the UAE’s development, stating, “Throughout the UAE’s development journey, women have provided an inspiring model of taking responsibility and working sincerely for their families and communities.”

The President emphasized the integral role of Emirati women in achieving national goals and advancing the country’s ambitions.

“On Emirati Women’s Day, we express our pride in Emirati women who work with dedication, integrity, and efficiency, hand in hand with men in all national work positions to achieve the UAE’s development ambitions and continuous progress,” Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed added.

He further highlighted that the UAE’s progress would not have been possible without the persistent efforts of its women, describing them as “tireless” and “inspirational.”

His message reflected the nation’s deep respect and recognition for the vital contributions of Emirati women in various sectors and their role in the country’s transformation into a global leader.

Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the General Women’s Union (GWU), also marked the occasion by highlighting the ongoing support Emirati women have received from the UAE’s leadership.

Al Suwaidi expressed her gratitude to Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation and a prominent figure in promoting women’s empowerment in the UAE.

Al Suwaidi commended Sheikha Fatima for her instrumental role in enhancing the status and opportunities for Emirati women.

“Sheikha Fatima has been a steadfast supporter of Emirati women, playing a fundamental and effective role in empowering and enhancing the role of women in society,” Al Suwaidi said.

She noted that Sheikha Fatima has set a global example for women’s empowerment, encouraging them to maximize their potential and contribute to the nation’s progress.

In her remarks, Al Suwaidi emphasized that Emirati Women’s Day serves as a celebration of the respect and admiration afforded to women in the UAE.

She acknowledged their invaluable contributions to the nation’s renaissance and highlighted their role in driving the UAE’s ongoing success.

“Emirati women have consistently demonstrated their efficiency, excellence, and dedication in all their endeavours,” she noted, extending her greetings and appreciation to all Emirati women.
