Kate Middleton attends the Wimbledon Ladies’ Final, making her first appearance after self isolation!

The Duchess of Cambridge was in self isolation after she came in contact with someone who later tested positive for COVID-19. Finally, Kate made her first public appearance, ending her self-isolation, and attended the Wimbledon Ladies’ single final with her husband Prince William today.

Middleton watched the match played between Australia’s Ashleigh Barty and Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova from the royal box on Centre Court. The Duchess looked stunning in a green A-line dress along with Prince Williams, who wore light blue suit and navy tie. This is Middleton’s second appearance at the championship and she is also going to attend the men’s final.

Kate Middleton is the Patron of Wimbledon’s All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) since 2016, the position was handed to her by the Queen. The club hosts the tennis tournament every year.

Other than that, yesterday, Duke of Kent, who has served as the President of the AELTC for the last fifty years, was announced to be stepping down from his role. Therefore, this weekend is going to be the last ceremony for the Duke of Kent to present the awards and trophies for the final time.

Before this, Middleton also made an appearance at the ladies’ single final games in the past with Meghan Markle and Pippa Middleton, in 2019.

This year, before going into isolation, Middleton had attended the tournament on July 2, which was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kate reportedly attended the match after helping in the preparation of food in the kitchens on the ground. Before the tournament, Kate had also visited the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum, where she took in a special exhibition on the Centenary of Centre Court.

Other than Kate Middleton and Prince Williams, other members of the Royal family also attended the Wimbledon Ladies single final match today. Zara and Mike Tindall were also sighted on their day date at the Wimbledon. Princess Beatrice also attended the match along with her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Kate’s parents Carole and Michael Middleton also accompanied the family in the royal box.
